About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Traditional Pizza Maker to join our restaurant team. The ideal candidate must have strong experience working with a traditional wood-fired pizza oven and be confident preparing authentic, high-quality pizzas in a busy restaurant environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of professional pizza-making experience
• Previous experience working in a restaurant or pizzeria is essential
• Proven experience operating and cooking with a wood-fired pizza oven
• Strong knowledge of traditional pizza preparation, dough handling and baking techniques
• Able to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced kitchen
• Reliable, punctual and responsible
• Good attention to cleanliness, food safety and kitchen hygiene
• Able to work long hours, weekends and public holidays when required
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude
• Must have a valid South African ID or appropriate legal work authorization

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare traditional pizza dough, sauces and toppings
• Stretch and prepare pizzas according to the restaurant's standards
• Operate and maintain the wood-fired pizza oven safely
• Monitor oven temperature and cooking times
• Ensure pizzas are consistently prepared and cooked to a high standard
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations
• Assist with kitchen preparation and cleaning when required
• Manage orders efficiently during busy periods
• Minimize food waste and maintain proper stock usage
