Trainee Installer

Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Trainee Installer to join our team on a part-time basis with the intent to become full-time. The ideal candidate should be able to work from plans, assemble and install cupboards and furniture accurately and take responsibility for maintaining an organised and productive work environment on-site. Key Responsibilities and Requirements

• Must have knowledge on how to read and accurately interpret plans, drawings, and measurements.
• Assemble cupboards, furniture, and related products according to plans.
• Assemble and prepare products before spray-painting. This includes fitting doors, panels and fillers onsite or the shop floor.
• Ensure completed products are properly packaged, labelled and numbered for transport.
• Complete installations within the agreed timeframe and deadlines.
• Install cupboard doors correctly and ensure fillers and panels are accurately positioned and aligned.
• Install and adjust hardware, hinges, handles, runners and other fittings correctly.
• Take full responsibility for hardware taken to site, including keeping track of items used and making sure unused hardware is returned and signed back in.
• Sign out and maintain control of tools and equipment being used on-site.
• Ensure tools and equipment are accounted for and safely stored when not in use and until signed back in at the workshop.
• Assist with general on-site tasks while waiting for installation work or other components to be completed.
• Must be able to identify and report basic installation issues and discrepancies at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional work area at the client's premises or the shop floor

The following will count in your favour:

• A valid driver's licence.
• Must have a minimum of 4 years experience in cabinetmaking, carpentry, furniture installation or woodworking.

Pay: R30,00 - R70,00 per hour
