Travel Consultant – Air Ticketing

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, flexible and service-driven Travel Consultant specialising in Air Ticketing to join our Johannesburg branch.

The successful candidate will manage domestic, regional and international flight bookings, provide competitive and accurate fare solutions, handle ticketing and post-ticketing requirements, and deliver efficient service to corporate and leisure clients.

The role requires strong GDS and NDC knowledge, excellent fare interpretation skills, attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced travel environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end domestic, regional and international flight reservations and ticketing, from quotation through issuance and after-sales service.
• Provide competitive flight options and manage ticket issuance, reissues, revalidations, voids, refunds, cancellations and schedule changes.
• Interpret and apply airline fares, taxes, penalties, baggage rules and ticketing conditions accurately.
• Work confidently across Amadeus and/or Travelport/Galileo and NDC platforms, including published, negotiated and private fares.
• Compare and identify suitable fare options across GDS and NDC channels and understand the relevant booking and servicing requirements.
• Manage airline disruptions, special service requests, seating, frequent-flyer requirements and other booking-related matters.
• Liaise professionally with clients, airlines and suppliers and ensure timely resolution of booking and ticketing issues.
• Maintain accurate booking records, approvals and documentation while following company procedures and ticketing deadlines.
• Minimise ticketing errors, ADMs and financial losses through accuracy and compliance with airline rules.
• Deliver prompt customer service and contribute towards branch sales, service and productivity targets.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years' experience as a Travel Consultant with strong air-ticketing experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Amadeus and/or Travelport/Galileo.
• Good NDC fare literacy and practical knowledge of NDC bookings, ticketing and post-booking servicing.
• Good knowledge of domestic and international fares, fare rules, reissues, refunds and airline procedures.
• Good geographical knowledge, including international airline routes and connections.
• Corporate travel experience will be advantageous.
• Strong communication, customer-service and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage urgent travel requirements, changing priorities and, when required, support outside normal working hours.
• Able to work independently while contributing positively to the team.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is strong in air ticketing, GDS and NDC fares, understands the importance of accuracy and takes ownership of each booking from beginning to end.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling complex itineraries, comparing fare options across different distribution channels, interpreting fare rules and managing urgent changes while maintaining a professional and service-oriented approach.

Pay: R10 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month
