As a multinational, multi-currency business, Alliance Media's Treasury department plays a critical role in managing cash flow, foreign exchange, and banking relationships across the diverse territories in which the group operates.

The Treasury department is the custodian of the group's financial assets, cash flow management, exchange rate management, investment management, and payments processing, ensuring compliance with bank and central bank requirements across the territories in which the group operates.

This internship offers hands-on exposure to treasury operations in a multinational environment, working alongside experienced treasury professionals to build a strong foundation in cash management, banking, and financial controls.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assisting with the preparation of daily bank reconciliations and helping resolve reconciling item queries
  • Supporting the compilation of the monthly cash flow forecast
  • Assisting with the preparation of the petty cash reimbursement process
  • Loading and capturing payments accurately, under supervision, and helping prioritise urgent payments
  • Sending proof of payments promptly after payments are released
  • Assisting accounts receivable to trace unknown deposits by liaising with the banks
  • Processing payments in X3, ensuring accurate capturing and matching to the relevant PO or invoice
  • Responding to routine queries promptly and escalating urgent matters to the treasury team
  • Supporting the team's efforts to stay compliant with Reserve Bank laws and regulations relating to foreign payments
  • Learning and applying the company's financial management controls that help minimise financial risk
  • Assisting in applying treasury controls consistently to help safeguard the company against cyber-attacks and fraudulent payments
  • Contributing ideas for improving treasury processes and routine tasks
  • Building an understanding of banking systems, online banking platforms, and treasury best practice
  • Developing working relationships within the department and communicating openly with peers to support collaboration across the accounting team

Qualifications

  • B Comm Accounting / Finance degree (completed or final year)
  • No prior treasury experience required — this is an entry-level internship
  • Exposure to Sage X3 (or similar ERP) and online banking platforms advantageous, but not essential
  • Strong Excel skills advantageous

Additional Information

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Preferred) — B Comm Accounting/Finance or related field
  • Experience: None required; prior exposure to a finance or accounting environment is an advantage
