OWNER-DRIVERS WANTED – NGI4 XPRESS
NGI4 Xpress is looking for reliable 34-ton truck owners to join our Subcontractor Owner-Driver Programme .
We are currently looking for:
✅ 34-Ton Tautliner Superlink
✅ 34-Ton Flatbed Superlink
✅ Trucks must be in good mechanical condition
✅ Clean and well-maintained vehicles
✅ Valid Goods in Transit (GIT) Insurance required
✅ All relevant vehicle and compliance documents must be available
✅ Must be available for national deliveries

Successful owner-drivers will be onboarded onto the NGI4 Xpress network and will have access to available loads immediately after completing the onboarding and compliance process.

Responsibilities
The Owner-Driver/Subcontractor shall be responsible for providing a safe, reliable, compliant, and properly maintained vehicle and shall perform all transportation services assigned by NGI4 Xpress in accordance with the terms of the Subcontractor Agreement.
1. Vehicle and Fleet Responsibilities
The Owner-Driver/Subcontractor shall:
- Provide a roadworthy and mechanically sound truck and trailer suitable for the loads and routes assigned.
- Ensure that the vehicle is clean, presentable, and maintained to an acceptable commercial standard.
- Ensure that all vehicle licences, permits, roadworthy certificates, operator documents, and other statutory requirements remain valid and up to date.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Immediately report any mechanical defect, breakdown, accident, damage, or safety concern to NGI4 Xpress.
- Be responsible for all vehicle maintenance, repairs, tyres, servicing, fuel, tolls, licensing, and other operating costs unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Ensure that the vehicle has suitable equipment required for the assigned loads, including securing equipment, tarpaulins, straps, chains, load locks, and other relevant equipment.
2. Goods In Transit (GIT) Insurance
The Owner-Driver/Subcontractor shall:
- Maintain valid and adequate Goods in Transit (GIT) insurance for the full duration of the subcontracting relationship.
- Ensure that the GIT policy is appropriate for the type and value of goods being transported.
- Provide NGI4 Xpress with a valid Certificate of Insurance/Confirmation of Cover and policy schedule before commencing work.
- Immediately notify NGI4 Xpress of any cancellation, suspension, expiry, amendment, or reduction in GIT cover.
- Maintain the required GIT cover throughout the period in which the subcontractor is transporting goods on behalf of NGI4 Xpress.
- Be responsible for any loss or damage to goods where such loss or damage arises from the Owner-Driver/Subcontractor's negligence, misconduct, breach of contract, or failure to comply with the requirements of the GIT policy.
3. Driver Responsibility
The Owner-Driver/Subcontractor shall ensure that:
- Only properly licensed and authorised drivers operate the vehicle.
- Drivers possess the correct licence and professional driving credentials required for the vehicle and operation.
- Drivers comply with all applicable road traffic laws and regulations.
- Drivers are properly trained and competent to transport the assigned goods.
- Drivers do not operate vehicles while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair their ability to drive.
- Drivers comply with prescribed driving hours, rest periods, and applicable fatigue-management requirements.
- Drivers behave professionally when dealing with NGI4 Xpress, clients, loading facilities, warehouses, security personnel, and members of the public.
- Drivers wear appropriate PPE where required by the client or loading/delivery facility.
4. Load and Cargo Responsibilities
The Owner-Driver/Subcontractor shall:
- Ensure that goods are properly loaded, secured, protected, and transported.
- Verify the condition and quantity of the goods where required at collection.
- Ensure that the vehicle is suitable for the type of cargo being transported.
- Not open, tamper with, transfer, sell, remove, or otherwise interfere with the goods without written authorisation.
- Take reasonable precautions to prevent theft, damage, contamination, loss, or deterioration of the goods.
- Ensure that cargo remains secure throughout the journey.
- Immediately report shortages, damaged goods, rejected loads, seal discrepancies, or other irregularities to NGI4 Xpress.
5. Collection and Delivery Responsibilities
The Owner-Driver/Subcontractor shall:
- Arrive at collection and delivery points an hour early and within the agreed delivery windows.
- Follow the agreed route and instructions unless an alternative route is authorised or required due to an emergency or road conditions.
- Obtain the required collection and delivery documentation.
- Obtain signed Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation after delivery.
- Submit PODs and other required documentation to NGI4 Xpress within the agreed timeframe.
- Immediately notify NGI4 Xpress of any delays, traffic incidents, breakdowns, accidents, rejected loads, or other circumstances that may affect delivery.
- Ensure that all delivery information is accurate and complete.
6. Communication and Tracking
The Owner-Driver/Subcontractor shall:
- Maintain reliable communication with NGI4 Xpress throughout each assigned trip.
- Keep the designated operations/contact person updated regarding the vehicle's location and progress where required.
- Ensure that vehicle tracking systems remain operational where tracking is a requirement of NGI4 Xpress or its client.
- Not intentionally disable, interfere with, or manipulate any vehicle tracking or monitoring device.
- Respond promptly to operational instructions and requests for updates.
7. Security Responsibilities
The Owner-Driver/Subcontractor shall:
- Park vehicles carrying cargo only at secure and approved locations where reasonably possible.
- Take reasonable measures to prevent theft, hijacking, vandalism, and unauthorised access to the vehicle or cargo.
- Not leave loaded vehicles unattended in unsafe locations without a reasonable operational necessity.
- Comply with any specific security requirements imposed by NGI4 Xpress or its client.
- Immediately report any attempted theft, hijacking, suspicious activity, or security incident.
8. Compliance and Documentation
The Owner-Driver/Subcontractor shall provide and maintain all documentation required for onboarding and ongoing compliance, including where applicable:
- Company registration documents.
- Operator's licence/operating licence.
- Roadworthy certificates.
- Driver's licence and professional driving permit.
- GIT insurance documentation.
- Vehicle tracking confirmation where applicable.
- Banking confirmation.
- Driver and vehicle information.
- Any other documents reasonably requested by NGI4 Xpress or its clients.
The subcontractor shall immediately notify NGI4 Xpress of any change affecting its compliance status.
9. Client Service and Conduct
The Owner-Driver/Subcontractor represents NGI4 Xpress when performing services for NGI4 Xpress clients and shall therefore:
- Maintain professional conduct at all times.
- Protect NGI4 Xpress's reputation and client relationships.
- Treat client information, pricing, routes, load information, and operational information as confidential.
- Not engage in conduct that may damage NGI4 Xpress's relationship with its cl
