Turnaround and Business Rescue Analyst

Job Description

To support Turnaround and Business Rescue Specialist with diagnostic business reviews, financial due diligence and crafting turnaround solutions for stressed/distressed clients.

Qualification and Experience

• B.com (Hons) Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• CA(SA) / CFA, or equivalent or post graduate professional qualification will be advantageous.
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in financial due diligence, modelling and financial restructure
• Balance Sheet Restructuring expertise is essential
• Exposure to a Turnaround and Restructuring environment - businesses experiencing distress will be an added advantage
• Good understanding knowledge of business and the diversity of risks that may affect businesses
• Good working knowledge of different types of financing instruments.
• Good working knowledge of Company, Contract, Taxation, IFRS and Insolvency legislation.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Diagnostic Business Reviews: support Specialists to ascertain clients reasonable prospect of an operationally and financially viable and sustainable;
• Financial Due Diligence: conduct investigations to determine financial root causes for distress,
• Financial Modelling: Preparation of financial projections as an integral part of the due diligence
• Financial Restructuring intervention: Determine the optimum financial intervention that IDC can implement to support the Turnaround strategy e.g. restructuring of IDC repayment terms, conversion of IDC debt to equity, injection by IDC of additional funds, finding third parties to inject additional funds, etc
• Turnaround Solutions: Contribute towards the optimum Turnaround solutions that will improve the company’s sustainable viability,
• Submission to Investment Committees: Preparation and presentation of reports to a committee for a decision(s),
• Advisory Services: Support Specialist with advisory enquiries pertaining to investments showing signs of potential financial failure;
• Customer Focus: Building and maintaining good relationships with in/external clients;
• Monitor and report: where necessary, co-monitor the implementation of the Turnaround strategy through regular client visits and/or attending Steerco/ Manco;
• Administrative duties: Performing all associated with the role
