Tyre Bay Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all daily tyre fitment, repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Manage the tyre team and allocate daily workloads.
• Monitor tyre condition, tread depth, wear patterns, and tyre pressures across the fleet.
• Implement and manage tyre rotation and preventative maintenance programmes.
• Investigate tyre failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all tyre work complies with company safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Monitor and reduce tyre-related breakdowns and downtime.
• Maintain accurate tyre records, including fitments, removals, repairs, and tyre life analysis.
• Control tyre stock levels and manage inventory efficiently.
• Liaise with tyre suppliers regarding purchases, warranties, and technical support.
• Monitor tyre costs and assist with budget control.
• Ensure workshop housekeeping and safety standards are maintained.
• Train and mentor tyre technicians to improve performance and productivity.
• Work closely with the Workshop Manager and Fleet Management team to improve overall fleet performance.
• Minimum Requirements
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in tyre management within the heavy commercial vehicle industry.
• Previous supervisory or team leader experience.
• Experience working with side tipper combinations, PBS trucks, or heavy commercial fleets will be advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of commercial truck tyres, tyre maintenance, wheel alignment, balancing, and tyre management systems.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and fleet management software).
• Valid driver's licence (Code EC will be advantageous).
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
