Job Description

PBT Group is seeking an experienced User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Tester to join a dynamic delivery team in Cape Town on a contract basis.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented testing professional who enjoys working closely with business stakeholders to ensure technology solutions meet business requirements before deployment. You will play a key role in planning, coordinating and executing User Acceptance Testing across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality system delivery and an excellent end-user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across multiple initiatives.
• Review business and functional requirements to ensure complete test coverage.
• Develop and maintain UAT test scenarios, test cases and test scripts.
• Execute end-to-end business process testing and validate system functionality.
• Identify, log and track defects through to resolution.
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Developers, QA teams and business stakeholders throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Facilitate defect triage sessions and assist with prioritisation of issues.
• Validate defect fixes and perform regression testing where required.
• Support business users during UAT cycles and provide guidance throughout the testing process.
• Ensure testing evidence and documentation are maintained in accordance with governance standards.
• Provide regular progress updates and testing status reports to project stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and best practices.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analysis or a related field.
• Minimum 4–6 years' experience in Software Testing or User Acceptance Testing.
• Proven experience delivering UAT within enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience working within Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
• Financial Services, Retail or Enterprise Systems experience will be advantageous.
