Underground Miner

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
• Valid Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines.
• Minimum of 5 years' proven experience as an Underground Miner in a gold mining operation.
• Underground Gold Mining experience is a mandatory requirement. Candidates whose experience is limited to commodities other than gold (e.g. platinum, coal, chrome, manganese, diamonds, or iron ore) will not be considered.
• Thorough understanding of underground gold mining methods, stoping operations, development ends, mining cycles, and safe blasting practices.
• Sound knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and associated regulations.
• Proven supervisory and team leadership experience.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Medically fit to work in an underground mining environment.
• English is the official TGME language, and the candidate must be proficient in speaking and writing it.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise underground mining activities to achieve production and safety targets.
• Ensure compliance with all Mine Health and Safety requirements, company standards, and statutory obligations.
• Supervise drilling, charging, blasting, cleaning, support installation, and ore handling activities.
• Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
• Monitor underground working conditions and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Ensure optimal utilisation of labour, equipment, and mining resources.
• Compile and maintain accurate production, safety, and shift reports.
• Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and unsafe conditions.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

A competitive market-related remuneration package will be offered based on qualifications, experience, and suitability for the role.
