Veterinarian (Big Cat Sanctuary)

This is an amazing opportunity for a Qualified Vet to work in a Wildlife Sanctuary mainly with Big Cats. Please only apply if you are a qualified Veterinarian

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the health and well-being of all the sanctuaries animals, mainly big cats
• Upkeeping of medical records
• Observational assessments of all animals and adjustments to their medication and care, depending on the individual's needs, including husbandry aspects such as nutritional and environmental needs
• Contributing to general husbandry as part of the animal management team
• Contributing to preventative medicine protocols in a captive welfare setting
• Participating in and supporting the safe transfer of animals to the sanctuary
• Assisting in managing free roaming game

Qualifications and Experience:

• Min 3 years experience in small or mixed animal practice, preferably including animal welfare and / or wildlife settings
• Fully qualified veterinarian (must be registered with the South African Veterinary Council or eligible to do so)
• Fluent in English
• Good Microsoft and record keeping knowledge
• Willing to relocate to Bethlehem Free State
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends and being on standby
• Drivers Licence
• Passion for animal welfare

Pay: R40 000,00 - R50 000,00 per month
