Key responsibilities include the following:

• Monitoring and promoting animal well-being during animal use and all stages of the animal’s life. • Responsibility to provide the highest standards of care and ethics in animal use. • Collaborative relationships with researchers and members of the WRAF team. • Provide surgical research support. • Attend and contribute, through the review of protocols. • Establish species specific health as well as disease surveillance programs. • Training and educational responsibilities. • Perform self-initiated research.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree or equivalent • 2 Years of experience as a Veterinarian • Registration with the South African Veterinary Council • Proficiency in English • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently
