Medical Care Coach (Onsite — Umhlanga)

Hours: US core hours, 3:00pm – 1:00am

Salary: R15,000 – R17,000 per month D.O.E

⏰ Please note the hours: because you'll support US‑based patients, shifts run on US Eastern Time. In South African time (SAST) that means afternoon, evening and late‑night shifts — roughly mid‑afternoon through the early hours, depending on your scheduled shift and US daylight saving.

About the role

GLP‑1 medications (like Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound and Mounjaro) are transforming weight management — but the medication is only half the story. As a GLP‑1 Care Coach at Response Carenet, you're the human who makes it work: guiding patients to eat well, stay strong, build habits, and feel supported through every step of their journey. You'll coach US patients across voice, chat and video on behalf of leading healthcare brands, in a HIPAA‑aligned environment.

Full training is provided but we want people with empathy, reliability, and a genuine desire to help people.

What you'll do

Coach patients on nutrition, movement, mindset and daily habits — protecting muscle, easing common side effects, and building routines that last.

Provide warm, judgement‑free support and accountability across phone, chat and video.

Recognize when something is outside your lane and escalate to the patient's clinical team promptly and correctly.

Spot red‑flag symptoms or signs of distress and follow clear escalation protocols.

Help patients prepare questions for their doctors and follow their care team's plan.

Document interactions accurately and compliantly in approved systems.

Adapt to the voice, tone and playbook of each brand you support.

The one rule above all others

A GLP‑1 Care Coach supports behaviour change — never practises medicine. You will never diagnose, prescribe, adjust medication or doses, interpret medical results, or replace a patient's clinical team. When in doubt, you don't advise — you escalate.

What we're looking for

Required

Medical Certifications is required or a Diploma / Degree in Medical / Nursing / Care

Genuine empathy, patience and a non‑judgemental manner

Strong listening and clear written and spoken communication (excellent spoken English)

Reliability, integrity, and comfort following strict rules and protocols

Comfort with technology and switching between channels and systems

Ability to handle sensitive health information responsibly (HIPAA training provided)

Able to work US core hours onsite in Umhlanga

Customer‑service, call‑centre, peer‑support or wellness experience

Personal familiarity with health or lifestyle‑change journeys

Training & growth

A structured 3-4 week paid certification program takes you from zero to confident, escalation‑aware coach.

A supported nesting period with a lighter caseload and close coaching as you ramp.

Clear paths to senior coach, quality coach, coach lead and trainer roles.
