Pepkor Speciality is seeking a dynamic, experienced Visual Merchandise Specialist for a temporary maternity cover role based at our Bellville, Cape Town office. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will fully own the role from day one to ensure continuity across our leading ladieswear Brand.This hands-on, strategic position is responsible for developing and implementing the visual identity, store layouts, product presentation, and merchandising standards across all stores to maximize commercial impact. The ideal candidate works well independently, manages multiple priorities, and collaborates closely with the Marketing and Retail teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance store experience through visual merchandise
- Manage and amend store Layouts as received for each store layout plan.
- Develop seasonal looks for windows and each department within the store.
- Create Flight Plans for each store, which detail the required information.
- Provide Category Management Support.
- Maintain Relationships with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and timeous execution.
- Assist in conducting training for all stores to execute VM principles.
- Plan seasonal workshops with Operations.
Qualifications
- Matric/Grade 12
- Diploma in Fashion or Retail Management (advantageous)
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a visual merchandising/design role, which specifically includes responsibility for the formulation and execution of the VM strategy, strong customer relations, and branding knowledge as well as exposure to retail.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a management level in a VM/Design role, which specifically includes responsibility for the formulation and execution of the VM strategy, strong customer relations, and branding knowledge as well as exposure to retail.
- Diploma in Fashion or Retail Management (advantageous)
- Expert experience in VM and Design best practices, global merchandising, or VM trends as well as an excellent grasp of branding, store design, and customer behavior.
- Proven experience in the leadership role of a team.
- Sound knowledge of the business environment, the relevant role players within the business, and their key responsibilities and outcomes.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Excellent language skills, verbal and written, in English are required.
- A valid Driver’s license is essential (this position will require travel).
- An inherent requirement for this position is travel, and therefore the successful candidate will need to manage their ongoing travel requirements.
