Position Overview:
We're looking for a Visual Merchandiser who understands that in retail, space is profit. This role is all about maximizing the daily return on investment of every product, using key insights from assortment planning, space allocation, and floor layout. You'll work closely with category teams, apply visual merchandising principles, and use data-driven to ensure every square meter works harder — and smarter. Key Responsibilities
- Implement Planograms Accurately: Execute planograms as provided by head office, ensuring correct product placement, flow, and visual appeal to drive customer engagement and sales.
- 2. Drive Sales Through Merchandising: Ensure displays are set up to highlight key lines, bestsellers, and promotional stock — with the aim of improving product visibility and supporting sales targets.
- 3. Support Commercial KPIs: Contribute to achieving key performance indicators such as sales growth, stock turn, sell through, and space productivity by ensuring merchandising standards are high and stock is well presented.
- 4. Maintain On-Shelf Availability: Monitor shelf space and facings to ensure fast-moving products are always available, helping to reduce lost sales and improve overall availability.
- 5. React to Store-Specific Sales Trends: Adjust displays (within guidelines) based on store-level sales insights, customer behavior, and promotional activity to optimize product performance.
- 6. Feedback to Support Ranging s Strategy: Provide practical, store-level insights to category and planning teams — including what’s working, what’s not, and what customers are responding to — to support better future decisions.
- 7. Ensure Promotional Execution: Set up promotional displays on time and according to the promotional calendar, ensuring pricing, signage, and stock levels meet expectations.
- 8. Uphold Visual Standards: Maintain a clean, appealing, and commercially effective visual environment across departments, ensuring planograms support both visual and sales objectives.
- 9. Track s Support Store Targets: Understand how visual merchandising contributes to the store's financial performance and actively support the achievement of weekly/monthly sales targets
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualifications and Experience • Min 3 - 5 years visual merchandising experience in retail •
- Strong product and trend awareness
- Understanding of sales KPIs and how merchandising impacts performance
- Matric (Grade 12) required; further retail or related studies an advantage
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-turnover retail environment
- Experience within the retail FMCG, homeware, or big-box retail segments is beneficial. • Ability to travel nationally.
- Communication at a high level ensures that the messages and training are absorbed at the store level.
- Not scared to get hands on to get things done.
- Own car essential.
