Job description

Job Purpose

To create visually appealing retail displays that enhance the customer shopping experience, strengthen brand identity, and increase sales by ensuring stores consistently meet the company’s visual merchandising standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain company visual merchandising standards across all stores.
  • Create attractive window displays and in-store product presentations.
  • Plan and execute seasonal campaigns, promotions, and new product launches.
  • Dress mannequins according to brand guidelines.
  • Arrange merchandise to maximise customer engagement and sales.
  • Ensure store layouts are customer-friendly and commercially effective.
  • Conduct regular store visits to assess visual standards and provide feedback.
  • Train store teams on visual merchandising principles and standards.
  • Work closely with Operations, Marketing, and Buying teams.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure displays remain full and appealing.
  • Ensure signage, pricing, and promotional material are accurate and correctly displayed.
  • Assist with new store openings, refurbishments, and store relocations.
  • Produce store visit reports and action plans.
  • Ensure all displays comply with health and safety requirements.
  • Manage visual merchandising equipment, props, and display materials.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Diploma or qualification in Visual Merchandising, Fashion, Retail, Interior Design, or a related field (advantageous).
  • Minimum 2–5 years’ visual merchandising experience in retail.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle is advantageous and willingness to travel.
  • Experience in apparel retail is advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of retail merchandising principles.
  • Excellent space planning and store layout skills.
  • Creative eye for colour, styling, and presentation.
  • Knowledge of current fashion and retail trends.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyse sales performance and adjust displays accordingly.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Time management skills.

Working Hours

Retail trading hours with flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and after-hours during store setups, promotional changes, and new store openings/expos.
