Job description
DIESEL MECHANIC WANTED – TRUCK REPAIR & FLEET MAINTENANCE
We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join our 37 year old truck repair workshop and fleet maintenance team.
Requirements:
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic OR proven experience in diesel/truck repairs
- Experience working on trucks and heavy-duty vehicles will be an advantage
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults
- Willingness to attend to vehicle breakdowns when required
- Own reliable transport to commute to work is essential
- A valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s licence will be an advantage
- Must be reliable, hardworking and able to work independently
- Must be willing to work weekends and after hours when required
- Good time management and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out repairs and maintenance on trucks and fleet vehicles
- Perform regular servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs
- Attend to roadside/breakdown call-outs
- Ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition
- Assist with general workshop duties as required
