Bombela Maintenance is looking to recruit 1 x Warehouse Driver and Site Fleet Coordinator

The purpose of this position is to safely transport goods, materials and equipment between the warehouse, sites, suppliers, while also coordinating the day-to-day management of the site fleet. The role ensures that deliveries are completed on time, warehouse movements are accurately recorded, vehicles are roadworthy and compliant, and fleet usage is well controlled. YOUR ROLE:

Warehouse driving and deliveries

• Load, transport and deliver goods, materials and equipment safely and timeously to approved destinations.
• Collect goods from suppliers, customers and sites as required.
• Check delivery notes, invoices, collection documents and goods received against physical items.
• Assist with loading and unloading vehicles while following safe handling practices.
• Ensure goods are secured correctly before transportation to prevent damage, loss or safety risks.
• Obtain signatures, proof of delivery and supporting documentation for all deliveries and collections.
• Report delivery discrepancies, damages, shortages or delays to the relevant supervisor immediately.

Warehouse Support

• Keep the warehouse, loading areas and vehicles clean, organised and compliant with health and safety standards.
• Operate warehouse equipment only where trained, authorised and certified to do so.

Site Fleet Coordination

• Coordinate the daily use, allocation and availability of site vehicles according to operational requirements
• Conduct or coordinate daily vehicle checks, including tyres, lights, brakes, oil, water, fuel, licence discs and general roadworthiness.
• Maintain vehicle inspection sheets, logbooks, mileage records, fuel slips, service records and fleet-related documentation.
• Monitor vehicle service intervals, licence renewals, repairs and maintenance requirements.
• Arrange vehicle bookings for servicing, repairs, inspections and tyre replacement as required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, breakdowns, traffic fines and misuse immediately to management.
• Track fuel usage, mileage, vehicle utilisation and fleet costs, and provide regular updates to the supervisor or manager.
• Ensure drivers using site vehicles have valid licences, authorisation and comply with company fleet procedures.
• Promote safe driving practices and compliance with company policies, road traffic regulations and health and safety requirements.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification, with a valid driver’s licence and Professional Driving Permit where required.
• Previous experience in warehouse driving, deliveries, fleet support, logistics assistance or a similar operational role
• Basic knowledge of warehouse operations, stock handling, delivery documentation, vehicle checks, maintenance scheduling and fleet administration.
• Computer literacy with the ability to maintain accurate records, spreadsheets, logbooks, fleet logs and supporting documentation.
• Safe, responsible and reliable driving behaviour, with honesty and accountability when handling company stock, assets and vehicles.
• Good planning, organisation, communication, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, physical fitness and adaptability under pressure.
