Warehouse Manager - Durban/KZN

Vagabond Clothing is a Durban-based clothing wholesaler seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager to take ownership of daily warehouse operations and build clear, reliable systems.

THE ROLE

• Lead receiving, checking, put-away, storage, picking, packing, returns, dispatch and loading.
• Maintain accurate stock records for clothing size and colour stock, raw materials, finished goods, trims, shortages and returns.
• Set and enforce practical procedures for stock counts, cycle counts, variance investigation, shrinkage prevention and stock rotation.
• Coordinate local and interprovincial deliveries, transport schedules, proof of delivery and customer deadlines.
• Lead the warehouse team by setting daily priorities, monitoring productivity, timekeeping, attendance, housekeeping and work standards.
• Work closely with production, CMT suppliers, purchasing and sales to resolve shortages, chase orders and keep commitments.
• Maintain health and safety, material-handling controls, housekeeping and incident reporting.
• Produce clear daily and weekly reports covering stock, dispatch, service, variances, backlog and team performance.
• Build practical systems that a smaller business can use consistently, and take a hands-on role when required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Proven experience managing a warehouse, distribution centre or logistics operation.
• Direct experience leading warehouse staff and enforcing operating standards.
• Strong knowledge of receiving, stock control, inventory counts, picking, packing and dispatch.
• Experience with warehouse or enterprise resource planning systems, barcode scanning, stock reporting and Excel.
• Clothing, retail, manufacturing or high-volume distribution experience is preferred.
• Evidence of improving stock accuracy, reducing losses, improving dispatch or service, or implementing procedures.
• Clear communication, firm but respectful leadership, reliability and the ability to work under pressure.
