Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Manager to take full ownership of our end-to-end logistics process. The ideal candidate will not only manage inventory but will act as the critical link between the warehouse, the customer, and the delivery network. You will be responsible for ensuring operational accuracy from the moment goods arrive until they are invoiced and dispatched.
Key Responsibilities
1. Goods In & Storage
- Oversee the receipt of all incoming goods, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
- Manage put-away processes to ensure optimal storage utilization and accessibility.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and systematic reorganisation.
2. Order Fulfillment (Picking & Packing)
- Supervise the picking team to ensure items are retrieved accurately and efficiently.
- Manage the packing process to ensure goods are secure for transit and presented professionally.
- CRITICAL STEP: Triple Check System – Enforce a mandatory "triple check" protocol before any order leaves the dock (Picker checks > Packer checks > Manager/System checks).
3. Customer Communication & Delivery Logistics
- Liaise directly with customers to confirm order details and arrange mutually convenient delivery time slots.
- Proactively manage internal fleet or third-party couriers to book delivery slots (e.g., retailer TMS, DPD, DHL, or local logistics).
- Coordinate and schedule delivery vehicles to maximize route efficiency and meet customer SLAs.
4. Invoicing & Administration
- Ensure all orders are approved and accurate before generating invoices.
- Liaise with the finance department to guarantee orders are invoiced on time (daily/weekly cut-offs).
- Hold orders if the "triple check" fails; do not release for invoicing until corrected.
5. Health & Safety
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment compliant with OSHA/local regulations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Order Accuracy: 99.5%+ (Zero picking/packing errors).
- On-Time Invoicing: 100% of orders invoiced within [24 hours / agreed window].
- On-Time Delivery: % of deliveries made within the booked slot.
- Inventory Accuracy: <1% variance.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years managing a warehouse or logistics team.
- Systems: Proficiency with Excel or any WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
- Soft Skills: Extremely process-driven; excellent customer service phone/email etiquette; problem-solving under pressure.
- Transport Knowledge: Experience booking delivery slots and coordinating commercial vehicle routes.
Pay: R10 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month
