Overview
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, dispatch, and inventory control of goods. The role involves managing warehouse staff, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring accuracy in stock management and order fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
- Manage and lead warehouse staff, including scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure accurate inventory control through regular stock counts and record keeping.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment as required.
- Ensure orders are picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Enforce health and safety policies and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and operational issues.
- Coordinate with suppliers, transport providers, and internal departments.
- Monitor warehouse equipment and arrange maintenance when necessary.
- Prepare and submit warehouse reports, including stock and operational performance reports.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma / Grade 12 (required).
- Relevant warehouse, logistics, or supply chain qualification (advantageous).
Experience
- 2 to 5 years of warehouse experience.
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Good organisational and planning abilities.
- Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse procedures.
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and inventory systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ensure a clean, safe working environment at all times
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Inventory accuracy.
- On-time order fulfilment.
- Warehouse productivity and efficiency.
- Compliance with safety standards.
- Reduction in stock losses and damages.
- Staff performance and attendance.
Reporting To
- Cape Town Branch Manager
Working Conditions
- Warehouse-based environment.
- May require occasional overtime, weekend work, and handling of equipment, pallet stackers, trolley jacks, pallets and operational emergencies.
Salary Range
- R15,000.00 + Phone + Laptop / Market-related, depending on experience and
qualifications.
