Warehouse Operations Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Supervisor to oversee daily outbound operations and ensure the timely and accurate picking, staging, loading, and dispatch of cargo.

The successful candidate will act as the second-in-command on site, and taking responsibility for operational coordination, documentation accuracy, cargo readiness, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities.

• Open and close the facility while ensuring all operational and security procedures are followed.
• Supervise daily dispatch and loading operations.
• Coordinate loading activities according to dispatch schedules and client requirements.
• Allocate suitable loading pitches for various cargo movements.
• Ensure cargo is ready and positioned for loading to prevent delays and congestion.
• Ensure picks are completed within the required 8–16-hour timeframe and proactively flag delays.
• Conduct spot checks to verify picking accuracy and sequence.
• Cross-check picked cargo before loading.
• Implement and monitor loading plans to ensure efficient cargo flow and vehicle turnaround.
• Supervise the lashing and securing of cargo.
• Ensure cargo is handled safely and in accordance with SOPs and safety requirements.
• Take and systematically upload timestamped photographs of cargo during staging, loading, and securing.
• Oversee dispatch documentation, including delivery notes, checklists, and dispatch records.
• Review and sign off dispatch paperwork before vehicles leave the facility.
• Maintain accurate records for audits, client queries, and compliance.
• Monitor dispatch consumables such as strapping, shrink wrap, and dunnage and report replenishment requirements.
• Ensure loading and dispatch checklists are accurately completed and submitted on time.
• Provide guidance and support to pickers to ensure correct picking practices and productivity.
• Coordinate closely with loaders, forklift drivers, and tally clerks.
• Assist with performance monitoring, discipline, and team motivation.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a warehouse dispatch or supervisory role within an import-export environment.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Warehouse dispatch operations
• Cargo handling
• Dispatch documentation
• Lashing and cargo securing techniques
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly with documentation and cargo handling.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with photo documentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
