Job description
Summary of functions
The principle objectives of the Warehouse Quality controller/Hose Assembler will be the execution of required assembly activities to meet customer requirements and perform various hose assembly, picking, quality control and warehouse duties.
Duties
- Assembly of hoses as per company work instructions.
- Cleaning and packing of hose assemblies and hose kits as per company work instructions.
- Controlling of final products.
- Stock Management and ensuring that errors, defects and waste are minimal and continually improved upon.
- Accurate picking of stock as per job cards.
- Maintain effective organisation of material inventories to facilitate efficient use of the space available in the warehouse.
- Maintain assembly equipment and tools to company standards.
- Ensure that all customer requirements are satisfied by ensuring that due date are met and that all orders are correct and quality controlled.
- Be able to respond to technical breakdown and on-site assistance.
- Accurate administration relating to stock usage.
- Always adhere to company and customer procedures, without deviation.
- Maintain a hygienic, clean and professional working environment at all times.
- Ensuring that all documentation and procedures are STRICTLY adhered to.
- Work shifts/irregular hours and be able to do standby duties
- Control the quality of stock assembled and to be dispatched.
- Reduce customer complaints by checking the quality of stock picked and assembled to be dispatched.
Competencies / Skills:
- Ability to read and write as acquired through a Secondary school education or equivalent.

- Ability to operate in a self-directed environment and complete tasks on time and thoroughly as assigned.
- Ability to use measuring devices such as a Vernier and tapes for measurement of length.
- Perform basic math; convert a decimal to a fraction and plot on a measuring tape
- Maintain workplace according to housekeeping rules.
- Ability to operate various types of assembly equipment, cutting equipment and crimper.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to work well in teams.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Complete job cards and related administrative duties accurately.
- Extensive knowledge of Hydraulic & Industrial Hose assembly / manufacturing & related products.
- Ability to work flexible work schedules and shifts, including long and/or irregular hours.
- Successfully remove and fit of hydraulic hose assemblies.
- Quality check completed products.
- Experienced in assisting and training hydraulic hose assemblers.
- Excellent stock controlling skills.
- Experience in working in above and underground sites/containers.
Education / Requirements
- Completion of year 12 High School is desirable.
- Qualified in Hydraulic & Industrial Hose Assembly by Sparrow FET College – essential.
- Diesel and mechanical fitting knowledge – preferred.
- Preferably 8 years’ or more experience in Hydraulic & Industrial Hose Assembly.
- Comply with all Health and Safety requirements.
- Valid driver’s license without endorsements– essential.
- Well rounded, neat and detail orientated.
- Hard working.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R10 000,00 - R18 000,00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Sandton, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
