Warehouse Supervisor

An exciting opportunity exists for a Warehouse Supervisor at Spitz in Isando, Johannesburg. The purpose of the role is to ensure timeous and accurate movement of goods covering inbound and any other warehouse functions. Reporting and resolution of queries, execution of labour planning, leave planning, basic industrial relations and performance management.

Key Performance Areas:

• Operations
• Timeous and accurate receiving of stock
• Accurate and productive put-away and investigation clearing within set targets
• Performance management, individual targets agreed and measured
• Timeous reporting and resolution of queries
• Ensure employees are trained and performance targets agreed to
• Training register and matrix up to date
• Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are relevant and available to employees
• Assist staff with any stock discrepancies and report to warehouse manager
• Resolving putaway investigations within 48 hours (2 days)
• Ensure adherence to inventory error tolerance of 95%
• Ensure adherence of 99.95% to internal audits
• Cost Control
• Leave planning in accordance with business seasonality
• Labour requirements versus inbound volumes, labour costs justifiable by volumes
• Monitoring of time and attendance, taking corrective action where necessary
• Reporting
• Performance reports published - daily for visibility
• Complete and accurately publish Order Control Report (OCR) daily
• Ensure adherence to weekly Spitz Health Checks
• Health & Safety
• Ensure a safe working environment for employees resulting in zero injuries on duty
• Uniform adherence – ensuring employees are issued with a uniform and are adhering to uniform standards
• Housekeeping standards are upheld – including shoe boxes, racking and isles
• Ensure MHE are daily inspected and accurately recorded

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

• At least 3 years' working experience in warehouse and distribution environment
• At least 2 years’ experience in managing staff
• Proven track record in a large distribution center will be highly beneficial
• Experience in IR and able to initiate disciplinary processes
• Previous working experience in an unionised environment will be highly beneficial
• Previous working experience in an Apparel and Footwear Warehouse will be advantageous

Qualifications:

• NQF Level 4 or Grade 12 / Matric
• Logistics/ Supply Chain qualification will be advantageous

Additional Requirements:

• SAP Warehouse Management working knowledge
• Microsoft Office Package
• Ability to work overtime dependent on operational requirements
