Job description
Decofurn is looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations at our Cape Town DC in Montague Gardens.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising warehouse floor operations , ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, inventory control and movement of stock while leading a high-performing team. The successful candidate will drive operational efficiency, maintain stock accuracy and ensure the warehouse operates safely and effectively to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the warehouse floor and warehouse team
- Oversee the accurate receipt, storage and movement of incoming stock
- Supervise inbound operations and support outbound order fulfilment
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock takes and variance investigations
- Monitor warehouse productivity, housekeeping and stock integrity
- Lead, coach and develop warehouse staff, supervisors and forklift operators
- Investigate stock discrepancies, damages and operational issues
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards and operational procedures
- Coordinate warehouse planning to optimise space utilisation and stock flow
- Utilise warehouse systems, Google Sheets and reporting tools to monitor operational performance and drive continuous improvement
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Relevant diploma or degree in Management and/or Warehouse Operations – Advantageous
- Minimum 3 years' experience supervising or managing warehouse operations
- Proven experience in inventory control, receiving and warehouse floor operations
- Experience working in a high-volume Retail Warehouse or Distribution Centre
- Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Google Sheets
- Sage Pastel experience – Advantageous
- Furniture industry experience – Advantageous
Please note: This role is not suitable for candidates whose experience is limited to administration, transport, dispatch, procurement or manufacturing without direct warehouse operations, inventory control and team leadership responsibility.
