Warehouse Supervisor

ABOUT THE ROLE

Swiss Build (Pty) Ltd is looking for a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to take ownership of day-to-day warehouse operations. This is a floor-based leadership role responsible for directing warehouse staff, keeping stock moving accurately and safely, and ensuring the warehouse runs to a high standard of housekeeping, security, and compliance every single day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Staff Management

• Assign and coordinate daily tasks across warehouse staff, pickers, double-checkers, inspectors, and boxers
• Run daily staff planning / morning meetings and manage the daily register for casual staff
• Monitor staff productivity, discipline and time-wasting during breaks; ensure no idle time on the floor
• Enforce company rules, workplace discipline and warehouse SOPs
• Track KPI's daily and review overall team performance

Warehouse & Stock Operations

• Oversee container offloading, local stock receiving, and loading of vehicles (day/night)
• Manage stock rotation, multi-warehouse stock movement, and warehouse space utilisation
• Oversee return crates, damage dump/domestic dump processing, and repair of damaged pallets
• Compress and consolidate stock across multi-warehouse sites
• Support and back up random inspection audits carried out by the Safety and Security Officers

Health, Safety & Security Oversight

• Oversee staff safety on the floor (e.g. correct use of ladders and equipment)
• Conduct entrance checks for employees entering the premises
• Perform fuel checks on forklifts (Hysters) and inspect handling equipment
• Repair or schedule repairs of damaged staff equipment as required
• Ensure warehouse cleanliness, housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained at all times

Administration & Reporting

• Review and update warehouse Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as operations evolve
• Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly operational reports
• Escalate incidents, safety concerns, and stock or equipment issues to senior management promptly

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate
• 3-5 years' warehouse experience, including at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a floor-based team
• Computer literate (MS Excel/Word); exposure to Sage or Pastel advantageous
• Strong attention to detail, and a hands-on, proactive approach to problem solving
• Able to work shifts, weekends and overtime as operationally required
• Own transport / valid driver's licence advantageous

Pay: R14 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month
