Wheel Alignment Technician

Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Relevant qualification in Motor Mechanics, Automotive Repair, Wheel Alignment or a related field will be advantageous.
• Proven experience working with trucks, trailers or heavy commercial vehicles.
• Practical experience with heavy-duty wheel alignment equipment.
• Good understanding of truck and trailer steering, suspension and axle systems.
• Ability to accurately diagnose mechanical and alignment problems.
• Valid driver's licence;
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Description

• Perform wheel alignment on trucks, trailers and other heavy commercial vehicles.
• Conduct comprehensive inspections of steering, suspension, axles and related components.
• Diagnose and identify wheel alignment and suspension-related problems.
• Measure and adjust toe, camber, caster and axle alignment where applicable.
• Use wheel alignment equipment and diagnostic tools accurately and safely.
• Identify uneven tyre wear and determine the underlying causes.
• Make necessary adjustments and recommendations to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
• Inspect steering and suspension components for wear, damage or incorrect settings.
• Complete accurate job cards, inspection reports and alignment documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed according to manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
