Job description
VACANCY: WORKSHOP MANAGER
Both local and non-local applicants are invited to apply.
Location: Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) & Project: R335 Motherwell to Addo
Project Reporting to: Contracts Manager
Intertrading Africa (Pty) Ltd invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Workshop Manager.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage daily workshop operations and supervise workshop personnel.
- Plan and oversee preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Ensure plant and equipment are serviced and maintained to manufacturer and company standards.
- Monitor equipment availability, workshop productivity, and maintenance costs.
- Manage job cards, maintenance records, and spare parts inventory.
- Coordinate suppliers and external service providers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SHEQ requirements, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Prepare maintenance reports and recommend improvements to fleet reliability.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Trade Test) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' experience maintaining heavy construction plant, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of yellow plant, diesel engines, hydraulics, and workshop management.
- Valid driver's license and computer literacy.
