Writing Specialist
HOF Immigration Services
Johannesburg, Gauteng
Job description
About HOF Migration
HOF Migration is a boutique immigration consultancy specializing in high-complexity US, Canada, and Australia visa programs for accomplished professionals. We hold ICCRC and MARA registrations and are known for institutional rigor, selectivity, and outcomes-driven work. Our EB-2 NIW practice serves researchers, academics, and specialists—clients for whom a single petition shapes career trajectory.
The Role
You'll draft EB-2 NIW petitions that win. This means translating client credentials—research, publications, awards, impact—into persuasive USCIS narratives grounded in Dhanasar standards. You'll work from case strategy notes and supporting evidence to build bulletproof positions on exceptional ability and national interest. The writing is rigorous, evidence-driven, and strategic; you'll navigate gray areas with confidence and precision.
Core Responsibilities
- Draft EB-2 NIW petitions from case strategy summaries and supporting documentation
- Build compelling narratives that position clients as individuals of exceptional ability—translating achievements into immigration-grade evidence
- Synthesize evidence (research, publications, awards, media, testimonials, impact) into coherent, persuasive petition storylines
- Collaborate with case analysts on strategy refinement and with quality reviewers on final strengthening
- Own quality in your drafts—anticipate USCIS objections, flag evidentiary gaps, tighten weak sections before handoff
- Stay current on Dhanasar standards and USCIS EB-2 NIW guidance shifts
Who We're Looking For
Must have:
- 2+ years of immigration petition writing or legal writing (USCIS, IRCC, or equivalent)
- Proven EB-2 NIW drafting experience and fluency with Dhanasar standards
- Exceptional written communication—clarity, persuasion, precision
- Ability to translate complex credentials into compelling narratives
- Comfort with strategic ambiguity; NIW positioning requires judgment calls
- Strong collaborative instincts
Strongly preferred:
- Academic background or familiarity with research/scholarly communication
- Prior immigration consulting or boutique legal writing experience
- Knowledge of related programs (EB-1A, Canada PNP, Australia skilled migration)
- Arabic or Urdu language skills
Nice to have:
- Paralegal or legal writing background
- Experience with immigration case management software
What Success Looks Like
- Petitions that are both authentic and persuasive—strong approvals, minimal RFEs
- Fast drafting without corner-cutting; quality control built into your process
- Proactive strategic thinking—you spot evidence gaps and flag positioning risks early
- Growing confidence and independence with increasingly complex cases
Why This Role
- Intellectually rigorous work — EB-2 NIW requires deep case strategy and persuasive writing
- Institutional environment — systems-driven, quality-first organization with clear standards
- Real impact — your words determine outcomes for accomplished professionals
- Strong team — you'll collaborate with experienced analysts, case managers, and reviewers across Dubai and Lahore
- Fully remote — work from South Africa with flexible hours; async-first collaboration
Compensation
Competitive UAE salary based on experience, plus performance bonus tied to petition quality and approval rates.
To Apply
Submit:
- Resume/CV (emphasize immigration or legal writing background)
- One-page cover letter explaining your interest in EB-2 NIW work
- Writing sample: 2–3 pages from a past petition or legal brief (anonymized OK)
Pay: R12 000,00 - R20 000,00 per month
Work Location: In person
