YACHT ASSISTANT HAULER DRIVER

We are looking for reliable and safety-conscious Yacht Assistant Hauler Drivers to join our team, assisting with the safe loading, movement, launching, and transportation of boats and trailers, while ensuring all rigging, slinging, and operational activities are completed efficiently and in accordance with safety requirements.

Key Job Functions

• Load boats onto trailers safely and securely.
• Assist with the launching and retrieval of boats.
• Perform rigging and slinging activities during boat launching operations.
• Ensure the correct trailers are used for the relevant boat types and sizes.
• Move and position trucks, trailers, and boats within operational areas as required.
• Conduct pre-use checks to ensure boats, trailers, and equipment are in good working condition.
• Report any damages, defects, or safety concerns to the Yacht Coordinator.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and operational requirements.
• Support the Yacht Driver and Yacht Coordinator with general marine and yard operations when required

Qualifications And Experience

• Minimum: NQF Level 2 (Grade 10).
• Experience: With at least 2-3 years of driving work experience.
• Valid Code 14 driver’s licence.
• Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Experience in boat handling, launching, rigging, and slinging operations.
• Knowledge of different trailer types and their suitability for various boats.
• Ability to operate trucks and trailers safely in marine and yard environments.
• Good understanding of safety practices within marine operations.
• Physically fit and able to work in outdoor environments.
• Must be willing to work outside of normal hours
• Willingness to work overtime as and when required
• Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally.
