Yard Foreman

Job Purpose
The Yard Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily yard operations, supervising yard staff, and ensuring efficient, accurate handling of stock, deliveries, and dispatches.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage yard staff, ensuring all team members are productive and tasks are completed on time
• Ensure the yard and store are kept neatly packed, organised, and stock is properly arranged at all times
• Receive incoming stock and verify quantities and condition against delivery notes/invoices
• Process and dispatch outgoing orders accurately and efficiently
• Plan and coordinate delivery schedules to ensure timely customer deliveries
• Liaise closely with sales staff regarding order status, stock availability, and delivery requirements
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised yard environment in line with company standards
• Report any stock discrepancies, damages, or shortages to management
• Assist with stocktakes and inventory checks as required

Requirements

• Must be fluent in both English and Afrikaans (spoken and written)
• Solid knowledge of hardware and building supply products
• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or stock control supervisory role
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between yard staff and sales team
• Physically fit and able to work in an outdoor yard environment
• Valid driver's license advantageous
• Forklift license advantageous

Pay: From R6 000,00 per month
