Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Hotel Manager to join a prestigious luxury hospitality property in the Cape Winelands.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading teams, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and ensuring smooth day-to-day hotel operations. Working closely with the Hotel Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest service standards while supporting operational excellence across the hotel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Hotel Manager in the daily operation of the hotel
- Ensure exceptional guest service is consistently delivered across all departments
- Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance the guest experience
- Oversee Front Office, Housekeeping and Food & Beverage operations to ensure company standards are maintained
- Ensure guest safety, security, and service procedures are consistently followed
- Lead, motivate, coach and develop hotel teams to achieve operational excellence
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing training and support
- Manage staff rosters, attendance and leave to ensure efficient staffing levels
- Monitor stock control, equipment usage and operational costs
- Assist with budgeting, inventory management and financial controls
- Supervise Night Audit processes and ensure accurate daily financial reporting
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers and service providers
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service delivery
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' management experience within a hotel or luxury hospitality environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent guest relations and complaint handling abilities
- Financial and commercial awareness
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Hospitality Management or Tourism qualification would be advantageous
- Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
- Experience using Protel PMS would be advantageous
- Valid driver's licence
