Bookkeeper (Bidvest Freight)

Job Purpose

Bidvest Freight is looking to appoint a Bookkeeper to be based at their Durban Point Office. The successful incumbent should have at least 3-5 years experience within a Finance field, with particular experience in Creditors, Debtors, Cashbook, General Ledger, General Journals and Sage 300 processing. The suitable incumbent should hold a relevant tertiary qualification in a Finance field.

This role will be most suited to an individual who has worked in a head office environment of a group of companies, supporting subsidiaries.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12
• Financial Accounting Diploma Or Bookkeeping Diploma Or Bcomm/Finance Degree
• At least 3-5 years experience processing creditors or GL in Sage 300
• Worked in a head office of a group of companies supporting subsidiary companies
• Computer literacy: Microsoft Office and Sage 300

Key Responsibilities

Bank Statements:

• Processing and reconciling of cashbook

Creditors:

• Process supplier invoices in Sage 300
• Prepare creditors requisitions by using invoices, statement and AP Aging from Sage 300
• Download proof of payments on FNB and e-mail out to suppliers

Debtors:

• Generating and distributing of invoices for costs to be recovered with supporting documents (disbursements)
• Generating and distribuiting invoices for recurring monthly revenue
• Emailing out of debtors statements

GL Journals:

• Monthly recurring journals
• Adhoc journal entries

Requesting Supplier Documents:

• Requesting the necessary documents for payment to take place for once-off or new creditors
• Verification of banking details; adding new suppliers to Sage300 and in the bank
