Job description
I am recruiting on behalf of a growing bus transport company seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support their finance operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced, operational environment with high transaction volumes.
Transport industry experience is advantageous; candidates from logistics, manufacturing, or engineering sectors will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
● Capture and process high volumes of financial transactions related to operational activities
● Perform reconciliations, including bank, creditors, and debtors
● Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments and client accounts
● Assist with month-end processes and financial reporting
● Monitor cash flow and operational expenditure
● Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
● Administer and process Quotes, Invoices, Purchase Orders and supplier accounts on Xero and/or Pastel accounting systems.
● Ensure compliance with financial controls and company policies
● Liaise with operations teams regarding costs, fuel, maintenance, and supplier accounts
● Support audits and financial reviews
● Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
Requirements:
● 3–5 years’ bookkeeping/ financial administration experience
● Bookkeeping certification, diploma, or relevant degree
● Experience with Pastel and/or Xero
● Expert Excel and Microsoft Office skills
● Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
● Ability to work independently
● Strong Attention to detail
● Adaptable and fast-learner
● Experience in transport, logistics, manufacturing, or engineering environments preferred
