BOOKKEEPER – PART-TIME/HALF-DAY

Location: Durban — applicants must reside in Durban
Work arrangement: Initial in-office training, followed by remote work with occasional office meetings (approximately twice per month)
Hours: Half-day with flexible working hours
Salary: R12,000 per month

We are looking for an organised and reliable Bookkeeper to provide bookkeeping services to a portfolio of clients. This role would suit someone who enjoys working independently, managing multiple accounts and communicating directly with clients.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day bookkeeping services to multiple clients
• Capture and accurately classify financial transactions
• Process invoices, expenses, receipts and payments
• Complete bank, supplier and customer reconciliations
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records
• Assist with VAT calculations and submissions
• Prepare monthly bookkeeping reports and supporting schedules
• Follow up with clients regarding outstanding information and documents
• Maintain accurate, complete and confidential financial records
• Ensure client work is completed within agreed deadlines

Requirements:

• Must currently reside in Durban
• Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification
• Previous bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accounting practice or multi-client environment
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero or Sage.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Professional written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable remote-working setup

Initial training will take place at the Durban office. Thereafter, the role will be primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings approximately twice per month.

Pay: R12 000,00 per month
