Deli Supervisor

Based in the hustle and bustle of Phoenix, our well established supermarket is seeking a deli Supervisor to join its family. As a deli supervisor you will work with your team to maintain a well-run delicatessen by ensuring smooth operations and positive customer experiences in the store.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and support your deli team.
• Direct, influence and assist the deli to increase sales.
• Innovate and bring in new ideas and concepts to enhance the deli
• Purchasing and management of inventory
• Build and maintain an effective deli department.
• Demonstrate strong management skills
• Inspection of food products that are prepared and ensure quality and safety.
• Ensure that all food hygiene and safety standards are met and keep up to date with industry standards.
• Determine costing and set meal prices
• Conduct deli training, merchandising, sales, and profitability growth.
• Administration: Signing off on invoices, timesheets, supervise other deli staff and schedule work activities; ensure deli opening times are maintained and fully staffed.

• Salary will be market related and based on your experience

Education:

• High School (matric) (Required)
• Qualification in hospitality/catering management.
• Health and Safety Certification would be advantageous

Experience:

• Hospitality/Catering management: 1 year (Required)

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• A qualification related to the hospitality and professional cookery field
• Experience in running a deli, canteen or restaurant.
