Accountant – Zensai Wellness
Location: Durban North, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
Employment Type: Full-time

Zensai Wellness is a specialised healthcare facility providing psychiatric rehabilitation and drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. We are committed to providing professional, compassionate and high-quality care while maintaining strong operational, financial and regulatory standards.
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team and oversee the financial administration and accounting functions of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial administration
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting reports
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations
- Monitor income, expenditure and cash flow
- Manage invoicing, statements and payment allocations
- Process and monitor supplier payments
- Assist with payroll and payroll-related reconciliations
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial analysis
- Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on payments
- Maintain accurate supporting documentation for all financial transactions
- Assist with annual financial statements and audit requirements
- Ensure compliance with relevant South African accounting, tax and statutory requirements
- Liaise with auditors, SARS, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders when required
- Identify financial discrepancies and implement appropriate corrective measures
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient, employee and company financial information
- Provide management with accurate financial information to support decision-making
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant BCom Accounting, BCom Financial Accounting, Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2–3 years' accounting experience
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Pastel or similar
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Sound knowledge of South African accounting and tax principles
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Previous experience in a healthcare, hospital, rehabilitation or similar environment will be advantageous
