Job description
An exciting opportunity is available for an IT System Administrator / Software Developer to join the IT team. This role combines systems administration, Microsoft technologies, software development and digital transformation, making it ideal for an IT professional who enjoys both technical support and developing innovative technology solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and securing IT systems, developing solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, administering SharePoint and supporting digital transformation and AI initiatives.

Duties:
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system control tools.
- Administer, design and develop solutions within Microsoft SharePoint.
- Develop business solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
- Support software development and systems integration initiatives.
- Administer and support the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Maintain system security, backups and redundancy strategies.
- Apply patches, updates and appropriate security measures to minimise vulnerabilities.
- Research emerging technologies and tools and make recommendations to vendors and management.
- Participate in and manage IT projects, providing progress updates to the IT Manager.
- Support digital transformation (DX) initiatives across the organisation.
- Explore and assist with the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and business applications.
- Participate in company improvement initiatives, suggestion schemes and quality circles.
- Perform ad hoc IT activities as required.
- Be available for shifts, overtime and standby duties when required.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Accredited qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Systems Administration.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with Microsoft SharePoint.
- Minimum 2 years' experience with Microsoft Power Platform, specifically: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI
- Experience in software development and systems integration.
- Experience in Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience in project management and/or implementing digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Microsoft Certifications will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of AI technologies and their business applications will be advantageous.
