Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail‑oriented Production and Quality Control Manager to join our fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) team. This is a pivotal role that combines quality assurance, innovation leadership, and regulatory compliance to ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and consumer trust.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control (QC)

• Lead QC operations to maintain compliance with R638, GMP and R146 labelling regulations.
• Drive new product development from concept to launch, including trials, sensory testing, and market readiness.
• Ensure labelling accuracy and compliance with local and international food regulations.
• Conduct supplier audits and manage corrective actions.
• Train and mentor staff on QC, hygiene, and labelling SOPs.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives across production and compliance processes.

Production Facility Support

• Assist in daily production scheduling, monitoring output, and resolving bottlenecks.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained and calibrated.
• Coordinate with supply chain and warehouse teams to manage stock levels and reduce waste.
• Support audits and facility inspections by external regulators.

New Product Development (NPD) Leadership

• Research market trends, competitor products, and customer insights to identify opportunities.
• Lead formulation trials, sensory evaluations, and shelf-life testing.
• Collaborate with marketing, procurement, and production teams to bring concepts to launch.
• Prepare technical documentation, costing models, and feasibility reports for new products.
• Drive innovation projects with a focus on sustainability, efficiency, and consumer appeal.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of FMCG production processes and quality standards.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Creativity in product ideation balanced with commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication (verbal, written, bilingual advantage).

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree/Diploma in Food Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG QC and production development.
• Proven track record in managing audits, regulatory inspections and product launches.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Performance Deliverables

• Zero tolerance for QC non-compliance.
• On-time delivery of production schedules.
• Minimum of 2–3 successful product launches per quarter.
• Documented cost savings or efficiency improvements in facility operations.

Pay: From R20 000,00 per month

• Stellenbosch, Western Cape 7605: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Preferred)
