Job description
Maternal, Adolescent & Child Health Institute NPC, (MatCH) is a non-profit organisation supporting public health services. MatCH implements donor funded projects to improve HIV and TB outcomes through providing technical assistance and direct service delivery support. MatCH is looking for a suitably qualified candidate to fill the following position under the Global Fund Cycle 7 (GC7) aimed at strengthening the healthcare delivery platform for TB in the OR Tambo District, Eastern Cape.
Type of Contract: Fixed term contract until 31 March 2028

Remuneration: a maximum TCTC rate of R 515 837 p/a
Main purpose of the job: Providing a high standard of radiographic chest x-ray imaging, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for reading images whilst ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and linkage to appropriate services. Liaising with relevant district/sub-district management teams and facilities for planning and allocation purposes. Communicating effectively with facility based outreach teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality service.
Key performance areas :Ensure clients sign the consent forms before Xray exposure Ensure that the Ionizing Radiation (for Medical Exposure) Regulations are adhered to. Record accurate patient information relating to dose and use of consumables Keep accurate patient records including recording radiation dose and exposure factors. Provides support and reassurance to patients who may be unwell or have barriers to understanding. Develop a sound knowledge of the equipment used to be aware of malfunctions and errors and to report them. Participate in the district/sub-district and facility development of operational plans for the deployment of the mobile DCXR. Maintain effective working relationships with outreach teams and facility staff Liaise with the Radiologist for diagnostic and technical advice and support Support referral and linkage to care for incidental CXR findings not requiring presumptive TB testing Work with the team to ensure that all data is collected and verified to ensure data quality Set up and prepare for daily activities Supervise the teams to ensure day to day direct service delivery
Required minimum education and training o Diploma or degree in Radiography o A valid unendorsed driver’s license is required.
Minimum Professional body registration o Current Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) registration o Active Private Practitioner Number
Work experience o Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience, preferably in a public health care setting
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities o HIV/TB knowledge and experience will be highly desirable o Experience working in a donor funded organization / NGO or project-based environment o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint o Report writing ability o Proficiency in English and IsiXhosa o Strong counselling skills. o Good organisational and administrative skills o Ability to handle a varied, busy, and pressurized workload with competing demands on time o Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team o Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals o Ability to write routine reports and correspondence o Good interpersonal skills o Ability to build relationships with clients and district/sub-district management team o Non-judgmental, trustworthy, and empathetic personality o Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions o Mentorship and capacity building skills o Availability to commence work immediately
