SUNCOM Transport Services Shuttle Service Driver (Post Level 14.2) (Stellenbosch Campus) Ref. KD/155/0626 Transport Services provides Stellenbosch University (SU) and its staff with cost-effective, sustainable transport options for training, research, sports and cultural purposes, and other associated needs. SU's Integrated Transport Plan aims to reduce the high volumes of motor vehicle traffic on SU's campuses. The parking management system and a combination of walking, cycling, campus shuttle services, lift clubs and public transport services are now utilised to establish a more sustainable, environmentally friendly campus and town. We're committed to keeping Stellenbosch University moving in the most effective and sustainable manner possible.

SUNCOM Vervoerdienste Pendeldiensvoertuigbestuurder (Posvlak 14.2) (Stellenbosch-kampus) Verw. KD/155/0626 Vervoerdienste voorsien die Universiteit Stellenbosch (US) en sy personeel van koste-effektiewe en volhoubare vervoeropsies vir opleiding, navorsing, sport- en kultuurdoeleindes, asook ander verwante behoeftes. Die US se Geïntegreerde Vervoerplan het ten doel om die hoë volumes motorvoertuigverkeer op die Universiteit se kampusse te verminder. Die parkeerbestuurstelsel, tesame met stap, fietsry, kampuspendeldienste, saamryklubs en openbare vervoer, word aangewend om 'n meer volhoubare en omgewingsvriendelike kampus- en dorpsomgewing te skep.

Duties/Pligte

• Transporting staff and students from the peripheral areas on campus to central campus daily as per schedule.
• Completing daily trip records and relevant administrative tasks.
• Ensuring full compliance with traffic laws, University policies and safety procedures.
• Maintaining vehicle safety, cleanliness and roadworthiness, including routine inspections and reporting of defects.
• Enforcing passenger safety and responding appropriately to emergencies/incidents.
• Acting as a key link between drivers and management, ensuring effective communication.
• Coordinating driver schedules, leave and route coverage to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Assisting with performance feedback, meetings and operational improvements.
• Handling passenger queries and concerns appropriately and escalating where necessary.
• Promoting a positive and safe shuttle environment.
• Assisting with ad hoc/operational tasks (e.g. vehicle transport, parking office support, and basic office duties where required).

• Voltooi daaglikse rit-rekords en toepaslike administratiewe take.
• Verseker volle nakoming van verkeerswetgewing, Universiteitsbeleide en veiligheidsprosedures.
• Handhaaf voertuigveiligheid, netheid en padwaardigheid, insluitend roetine-inspeksies en die rapportering van afwykings of probleme.
• Verseker passasiersveiligheid en reageer toepaslik op noodgevalle en voorvalle.
• Tree op as 'n belangrike skakel tussen voertuigbestuurders en die bestuur om doeltreffende kommunikasie te verseker.
• Koördineer die voertuigbestuurders se roosters, verlof en roetedekking om 'n ononderbroke diens te verseker.
• Hulpverlening met prestasieterugvoer, vergaderings en die implementering van operasionele verbeterings.
• Hanteer passasiers se navrae en klagtes professioneel en eskaleer waar nodig.
• Bevorder 'n positiewe en veilige pendeldiensomgewing.
• Verleen ondersteuning met ad hoc- en operasionele take (bv. voertuigvervoer, ondersteuning aan die parkeerkantoor, en basiese administratiewe take waar nodig).

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

• Matric Certificate.
• Proven three years' experience as a professional vehicle driver.
• A valid driver's licence and professional driving permit (PDP).
• Strong interpersonal and the ability to effectively handle confict.
• The ability to work within a team, communicate effectively and apply sound problem-solving skills.
• Matrieksertifikaat.
• Drie jaar se bewese ervaring as 'n professionele voertuigbestuurder.
• 'n Geldige rybewys en 'n professionele rybewys (PrDP).
• Sterk interpersoonlikevaardighede en die vermoë om konflik doeltreffend te hanteer.
• Die vermoë om effektief binne 'n span te funksioneer, doeltreffend te kommunikeer en gesonde probleemoplossings-vaardighede toe te pas.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

• Supervisory experience or equivelant would be advantageous.
• Toesighoudende ervaring of gelykwaardig sal voordelig wees.
