This recruitment is being undertaken by MESO's Income Generation Unit, which delivers professional services to the mining industry, government institutions and the private sector. Revenue generated through this unit is reinvested into education, environmental conservation, skills development and community upliftment programmes.

Position Overview

MESO invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Supervisor to oversee daily vegetation clearance, weed eradication and environmental rehabilitation activities.

The successful candidates will be responsible for supervising field teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications, while maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily work activities of field teams.
• Allocate work and monitor employee performance.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and pre-task risk assessments.
• Monitor compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Inspect work areas, equipment and tools before work commences.
• Record daily production and progress.
• Report incidents, hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and PPE.
• Assist with planning daily work activities.
• Liaise with the Site Manager regarding project progress and operational challenges.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Legal Liability training
• Any supervisor training
• HIRA
• Minimum three (3) years' experience supervising vegetation clearing, landscaping, environmental rehabilitation, construction, agriculture or similar field operations.
• Experience supervising work teams.
• Valid South African Driver's Licence.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to read and complete daily reports.Added AdvantagesPreference will be given to candidates with:
• Previous supervisory experience on environmental or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in vegetation management and alien invasive plant control.
• Health and Safety training.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Fire Fighting Certificate.
• Herbicide application experience.
• Brush Cutter and Chainsaw competency.
• Computer literacy.
