**ROLE SUMMARY:**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors of various types
* Cleaning a variety of rooms and areas across the campus
* Dusting ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose furniture
* Scrubbing and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures
* Emptying trash cans, washing, and cleaning windows
* Liaising with the line manager regarding stock of cleaning products and equipment
* Reporting any breakages that occur during the cleaning process
* Informing the line manager of repairs that need to be done
* General support for functions and events on campus if needed
* Holidays \- Follow Holiday Cleaning Duty List.


**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:**
* Fluency in English language is essential.

**Key Responsibilities:**
* Adherence to safety inspection of machines / equipment as per safe work instructions
* Operate machines / equipment in accordance with safe work instructions
* Perform TPM checklists
* Notch runners and risers
* Knock out runners and risers
* Fettle and or grind castings according to the work instructions requirements
* Collect runners and risers in correct material bins
* Move fettled castings to designated areas
* Adherence to quality control as per work instructions
* Report non\-conformances and communicate suggestions for improvement to the Foreman
* Identify any potential hazards and risks
* To adhere to required protective clothing rules and ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times
* Report unsafe conditions to Foreman
* Maintain demarcation lines in area of work
* Stack items in allocated areas and in a safe manner
* Attend compulsory safe start / green are meetings at the beginning of every shift
* Adherence to all statutory HSE and housekeeping / 5S requirements
* Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times


**Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:**
* Matric (Grade 12\); or 12 to 24 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid forklift license advantageous.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

**The Job Role Includes**
* Moving furniture / goods on and off campus
* Packing \& arranging as per function’s requirements e.g. graduations, exam venues
* Moving assets inter\-department and to and from the Assets storeroom
* Checking the store room for stock keeping
* Reporting to leadership any hazardous / defective matters
* On\-loading and off\-loading of assets onto and from vehicle
* Complete daily vehicle check sheet
* Reporting on defects, incidents / accidents and service requirements for insurance purposes
* Keeping vehicles neat and tidy
* Assist with functions in the Main Hall
* Assist with driving duties in the department


**Minimum Requirements**
* Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or equavilent
