* Diligently evaluate the quality of analytical data before handing over results to the Shift Chemist
* Advising the Shift Chemist of repetitive technical problems relating to day\-to\-day analytical procedures and standard operating practices for resolution
* Participating in audit and in\-process non\-conformances and customer complaints investigations and ensuring effective implementation of agreed corrective and preventative actions
* Participating in liaison with the Laboratory Technical team in group quality initiatives, round robins, method validation and proficiency testing schemes
* Advising the Shift Chemist on problems that may affect results production and turnaround times
* Performing instrument calibrations and routinely performing instrument checks and recording all relevant data
* Ensuring the confidentiality of all results at all times
* Participating in production/toolbox meetings to ensure that the post holder is well informed on of set production targets
* Ensuring that excellent housekeeping is maintained at all times within the laboratory Sections and that samples are stored correctly at all times and are easily retrievable when required
* Monitoring of stock levels to ensure all critical chemicals, consumables and equipment spares for ICP\-OES are readily available and minimum quantities are kept in stock to avoid shortages which can cause delays in routine analysis
