General Manager – Rigging Industry

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and results-driven General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our business. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of general administration, workshop operations, staff performance, customer service, and overall business activities. This is a senior leadership role requiring a proactive individual who can drive operational excellence, improve processes, and lead multiple departments to achieve company objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a General Management or Operations Management role, with proven leadership and people management skills. The successful applicant must be capable of planning and coordinating daily operations, managing workshop productivity, overseeing administrative functions, ensuring deadlines are met, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a General Manager or Operations Manager position.
• Valid South African driver's licence.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (extensive proven experience will also be considered).
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing workshop operations, administration, and multiple departments.
• Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills.
• Strong financial awareness, including budgeting, cost control, and operational reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the business.
• Manage the administration and workshop departments.
• Coordinate daily work schedules and operational activities.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and employees.
• Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and legal requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Prepare operational reports and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.

Interview Process:
