An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Registered Nurse to join a busy Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). This role is ideal for a compassionate and clinically skilled nursing professional who is committed to delivering evidence-based care while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. You will be responsible for providing holistic nursing care to critically ill patients, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, maintaining patient safety, and supporting operational excellence within the unit. You'll also play an important role in mentoring colleagues, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring the effective utilisation of clinical resources. What You'll Do Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients. Monitor, assess and manage patients within the Medical ICU. Administer medication in accordance with legal and ethical standards. Communicate effectively with patients and their families. Collaborate with doctors and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Advocate for patients and coordinate with case management. Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection prevention and SHEQ standards. Manage stock and clinical resources effectively. Supervise and mentor nursing staff where required. Ensure specialised ICU equipment is correctly utilised and maintained. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous professional development. What You'll Bring Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing. Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). Previous nursing experience within an Intensive Care Unit (ICU\/MICU). Strong clinical assessment and critical care nursing skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment. Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities. Customer-focused with a passion for quality patient care. Willingness to work flexible shifts and participate in the hospital call system.
