You'll play a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity and quality of our railway systems. Day\-to\-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Industrialization, and Quality), ensure compliance with welding standards, and contribute to continuous improvement processes like APSYS and 5S, and much more.



You’ll specifically take care of welding sub\-assemblies, underframes, and carbody structures for railway applications, but also ensure quality checks and repairs as needed.



We’ll look to you for:


* Welding components, sub\-assemblies, frames, and structures following WPS standards and instructions.
* Positioning, tack welding, and welding brackets on sub\-assemblies and components using engineering drawings.
* Using work orders from the workshop network to track and input activity data.
* Selecting and adjusting welding equipment as per instruction sheets.
* Ensuring proper positioning and gaps between components before welding.
* Finishing and cleaning welds, checking conformity, and repairing non\-conformities as required.
* Guaranteeing the quality of your work through self\-inspection and auto\-control.
* Actively participating in continuous improvement processes, including APSYS, SWIP, 5S, and daily team meetings.

We are looking for an experienced Boilermaker to join our dynamic team at MC Design. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacturing, fabrication, assembly and installation of structural steelwork and related components in accordance with approved engineering drawings, specifications and project requirements.
   

  

 The Boilermaker will be required to maintain high standards of workmanship, dimensional accuracy and quality while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and within project deadlines.
   


 The ideal candidate will have strong experience within an automotive manufacturing and installation environment, be able to accurately interpret engineering drawings and work effectively as part of a project team.
   




 Key Duties \& Responsibilities
   

* Read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings, specifications and job instructions.
* Measure, mark, cut, shape, drill and prepare steel plates, sections and components.
