 Auto Electrician is responsible for using service information at a level corresponding to existing Scania vehicles electronic control systems and carrying out calibrations and troubleshooting on these electronic control systems using PC diagnostics with an emphasis on non\-intermittent faults.

* Diagnose, analyse and rectify all types of faults, including engines, gear boxes and retarders, brakes systems, pneumatic and electric components
* Diagnose, check and set the mechanical system

* As required, attend to disabled vehicles at the roadside or on customer’s premises as part of Scania Assistance, following appropriate routines and procedures including roadside safety laws and regulations
* Provide technical advice to customers and colleagues
* Ensure all job cards and service sheets are completed correctly
* Understand and work according to parts ordering procedures
* Maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of products and attend training courses
* Use and apply knowledge, training, technical and personal skills to carry out work allocated
* Ensure that customer requirements and expectations are met, through the provision of quality workmanship
* Comply with Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices
* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness, ensuring the workshop and common areas are kept clean and are in order

We are looking for a **Junior Diesel Mechanic** to join our maintenance team in Vereeniging. The successful candidate must have hands\-on experience working on diesel engines in a workshop or production environment and be willing to learn and grow within a fast\-paced operation.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on diesel vehicles and mechanical equipment
* Maintain and repair site equipment including **forklifts, TLB, generator, and company vehicles**

 **The main purpose of the job is** to produce the required labor hours through maintenance and repair work, in accordance with the Company quality and efficiency standards.

 **Reporting:** This position reports to the Team Leader.

 **Job Objectives:**

  

* Fault\-finding and diagnosis on Volvo Products by interpreting product “under performance” and/or failure.
* Interpret and implement information in Volvo Manual and Service Literature.
* By following directives provided in Workshop Manuals, produce work of Volvo acceptable standards.
* Follow repair, maintenance instructions and specifications as per the manual.
* Ensure excellence in customer service delivery through meticulously following procedures/processes.
* Provide comprehensive and accurate reports on diagnosis, assessment of component/part, failures, observations, actions and recommendations.
* Follow procedures for breakdown work:
* Liaise with driver before responding to customer breakdowns;
	+ Ensure the correct documentation is in place and accurately completed before submission.
	+ Compliance to ISO 9001 and other Safety standards.

 **Qualification \& Job Experience:**

  

* Matric/N3\.
* Trade Test Certificate \- Qualified Diesel Mechanic.
* 3 years Dealership experience in maintenance and repairs of heavy commercial vehicles.
