* Tertiary diploma or equivalent and a minimum one (1\) year technical wind industry experience, OR six (6\) months technical wind industry experience and a certificate of completion from a Wind Technician program, OR in absence of technical wind industry experience, minimum three (3\) years' experience working with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical skills and/or composite skills
* Trade test \- Mechanical or electrical Demonstrated use and understanding of intermediate level power tools such as hydraulic, power torque and diagnostic tools (e.g. fluke meter functions and hydraulic pressure gauge)Ability to demonstrate an intermediate working knowledge of industrial safety practices / protocols (e.g. Confined Space, energy isolation)

We are looking for an experienced **Transmission / Gearbox Builder** to join our workshop team. The successful candidate must be able to **strip, rebuild, assemble, and test heavy\-duty transmission gearboxes** for **buses and earthmoving machinery** (not passenger vehicles).

The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working with major transmission brands.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Strip, inspect, diagnose, and rebuild heavy\-duty transmission gearboxes
* Assemble transmissions to manufacturer specifications
* Identify worn or damaged components and recommend replacements
* Conduct measurements, clearances, and adjustments during rebuilds
* Perform fault finding and troubleshooting on gearbox and transmission systems
* Test transmissions after rebuild to ensure correct performance
* Maintain clean and organized work area
* Complete job cards, inspection reports, and documentation
* Ensure work is completed safely and according to workshop standards

**Required Experience / Knowledge**

* Proven experience rebuilding heavy\-duty transmissions and gearboxes
* Experience working on the following transmissions is essential:
* **Volvo**
* **Allison**
* **CAT (Caterpillar)**
* **Bell**
* **Ecomat / ZF Ecomat**
* Strong mechanical skills and ability to work independently
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Qualifications
