**Purpose:**

The Digger Loader Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and competent operation of a digger loader/TLB in support of farm, maintenance, landscaping, road, drainage, and general operational activities. **2\. Tractor Driving and Farm Support:**

* Transport equipment, tools, materials, grapes, waste, compost, and other goods safely between designated work areas.
* Assist with soil preparation, farm road maintenance, vineyard support work, spraying support, trailer work, and other operational tasks where tractor use is required.
* Ensure trailers, implements, and attachments are correctly connected, secured, and used within safe operating limits.
* Assist with manual farm and maintenance duties when machinery operation is not required.

**3\. Equipment Inspection and Basic Maintenance:**

* Conduct documented pre\-start and end\-of\-shift inspections on the digger loader, tractors, trailers, and attachments.
* Check fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid, water, tyres, brakes, lights, warning devices, safety guards, buckets, forks, and attachments before operation.
* Clean machinery, remove debris, and keep equipment in a neat, safe, and serviceable condition.
* Report defects, leaks, abnormal sounds, damage, wear, breakdowns, and unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor.
* Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as greasing, refuelling, cleaning filters, and checking attachments where authorised and competent to do so.
* Ensure machinery is parked safely, secured after use, and stored in the designated area.

**4\. Site Operations and Work Execution:**

* Prepare work areas safely before operating machinery, including checking ground conditions, access routes, overhead hazards, services, and nearby people or equipment.
* Work according to task instructions, site plans, operational priorities, and relevant farm or maintenance schedules.
* Support road repairs, drainage work, erosion control, vineyard infrastructure maintenance, landscaping, building maintenance, and general estate upkeep.
* Coordinate with supervisors, maintenance teams, vineyard teams, contractors, and other operators to complete work safely and efficiently.
* Maintain good housekeeping around work areas and ensure materials are handled, stored, and disposed of responsibly.

**5\. Safety, Compliance and Risk Control:**

* Operate all machinery in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer instructions, site rules, and applicable health and safety requirements.
* Identify hazards, assess basic risks, and stop work where unsafe conditions are present.
* Use personal protective equipment as required and ensure safe separation between machinery, pedestrians, vehicles, structures, and livestock or visitors where applicable.
* Follow safe loading, unloading, lifting, tipping, reversing, parking, slope, and attachment\-change procedures at all times.
* Report incidents, near misses, damage, spills, unsafe behaviour, and equipment faults immediately.

**6\. Records, Communication and Reporting:**

* Complete inspection checklists, usage records, job cards, fuel records, and other operational documentation accurately where required.
* Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding work progress, delays, hazards, resource needs, and machinery availability.
* Follow instructions accurately and confirm task requirements where unclear before operating machinery.
* Maintain professional conduct and cooperate with other departments to support operational continuity.

**1\. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**

The Financial Manager runs the day\-to\-day financial management, statutory compliance, payroll and human resources functions of the company, under the oversight of the Managing Director.

The role is structured around **review and delivery**, not transaction processing. Capture, reconciliation preparation and routine administration sit with the Bookkeeper and Junior Financial Manager. The Financial Manager reviews and approves that output, handles the technically difficult work personally, and provides the Managing Director with accurate, timely information on which to make decisions.

Strategic direction, final authorisation and the design of the control environment remain with the Managing Director. The Financial Manager operates within that framework rather than setting it.

**2\. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**

**2\.1 Financial Accounting and Reporting**

* Own the integrity of the general ledger: completeness, accuracy and cut\-off.
* Review reconciliations prepared by the team (bank, debtors, creditors, VAT control, payroll control) and evidence that review.
* Deliver monthly management accounts to the Managing Director within \[7] working days of month end, with variance commentary and a short narrative on the result.
* Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS for SMEs and section 30 of the Companies Act, within six months of year end.
* Handle the judgemental areas personally: revenue recognition, leases, provisions, expected credit losses and deferred tax. Escalate any position that is finely balanced to the Managing Director.

**2\.2 Budgeting, Forecasting and Cash Flow**

* Prepare financial models and business cases to support capital expenditure, funding and pricing decisions.

**2\.3 Working Capital and Credit Control**

* Manage cash and banking within the approved delegation of authority.
* Manage the debtors book: credit vetting, limits, collections escalation and the doubtful debt provision. Where credit is extended to natural persons or small juristic persons, ensure National Credit Act compliance.
* Review the creditors payment run prepared by the Bookkeeper and submit it for authorisation.

**2\.4 Taxation and Statutory Compliance**

* Review VAT201 returns prepared by the Junior Financial Manager and own the reconciliation of VAT to the general ledger.
* Prepare IRP6 provisional tax and ITR14 annual returns, and compute current and deferred tax.
* Manage SARS eFiling, verifications, audits, objections and payment arrangements, and maintain the company's tax compliance status at all times.
* Maintain a statutory compliance calendar covering SARS, Department of Employment and Labour, and CIPC obligations, and report on it monthly.
* Confirm the company's assurance position annually against its Public Interest Score, and alert the Managing Director if the position changes.

**2\.5 Payroll**

The payroll is processed by the Junior Financial Manager. The Financial Manager owns its accuracy and legality and submits it to the Managing Director for authorisation.

* Review the monthly payroll against a headcount reconciliation and prior\-month variance report before submitting it for authorisation.
* Approve payroll master file changes, each supported by written authorisation from the relevant manager.
* Own the technical treatment of fringe benefits, travel allowances, retirement fund contributions, the employment tax incentive, and any garnishee or emoluments attachment orders.
* Ensure EMP201 submissions by the 7th, bi\-annual EMP501 reconciliations, IRP5 and IT3(a) certificates, monthly UI\-19 declarations and the annual COIDA Return of Earnings, and maintain a valid Letter of Good Standing.
* Ensure compliance with the BCEA, National Minimum Wage Act and any applicable sectoral determination.
* Maintain payroll confidentiality and POPIA compliance. Remuneration information must be ring\-fenced within the team.

**2\.6 Human Resources**

* Manage recruitment and selection: job profiling, shortlisting, interviewing, verification checks and offers, with appointments approved by the Managing Director.
* Maintain contracts of employment and a concise, practical policy set compliant with the LRA, BCEA and Employment Equity Act. Keep it proportionate to a business of this size.
* Manage onboarding, induction, exit processes and final settlements.
* Administer leave and provide for the leave liability at year end.
* Run the performance management cycle.
* Manage employee relations: grievances, incapacity, poor performance and discipline. Convene hearings and represent the company at the CCMA where required, keeping the Managing Director informed throughout.
* Monitor headcount against the 50\-employee threshold at which the company becomes a designated employer under the Employment Equity Act.

* Operate and monitor the internal control framework and the delegation of authority set by the Managing Director, and report any breakdown promptly.
* Ensure segregation of duties is maintained in practice across the finance team, particularly between preparation, review and payment release.
* Report suspected fraud or irregularities directly to the Managing Director without delay.
* Lead and develop the Junior Financial Manager and Bookkeeper, with a documented development plan for the Junior Financial Manager.
* Document key processes so the company is not exposed to key\-person dependency in a team of three.

The role provides hands\-on leadership across daily operational planning, resource allocation, transport coordination, people management, compliance, loss control and continuous improvement to ensure that all activities are executed in line with RTT standards, SOPs and agreed service level requirements. The incumbent is accountable for driving operational discipline, productivity, accuracy, customer service, risk management and sustained profitability while ensuring optimal utilisation of people, fleet, systems and site infrastructure within a 24\-hour operational environment.


**D****uties:**


* Ensure that operations are managed effectively and within SOP’s and SLA’s.
* Daily updating of dashboard statistics for JHB, CPT, DBN, BFN \& PE.
* Manage and plan transportation of deliveries, collections \& movements.
* Hands\-on approach and walking/inspecting of the floor daily.
* Route planning for CDS model.
* Fleet Management – ensure that fleet is managed according to procedures \& pulling of fleet reports for JHB, CPT, DBN, BFN \& PE.
* Traffic Fine Management – AARTO is managed according to set down principles and guidelines.
* Ensure that internal audit report is managed effectively internally by Day and Night\-shift Supervisor.
* Site is a 24hr operation will need to be available after hours if need arises.
* Ensure that all staff at Inhouse is adequately trained to perform job functions as per SOP’s \& Inhouse Training Modules (MySheq).
* Personnel and time management.
* Vehicle reporting.
* Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeline targets.
* Comply with laws, regulations \& client requirements.
* Audit and maintain inventories, supplies \& equipment on site.
* Weekly meetings with client and internal staff.
* Manage SLE reports.
* Manage Vehicle Tracking reports.
* Service level management as per clients’ requirements and Loss control.

 **Skills and Experience** **Minimum Requirements:**


* Minimum Matric / Grade 12\.
* Relevant NQF Level 5 qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport, Operations Management or Warehousing.
* Transport Management Certificate / Diploma advantageous.
* Financial Management or Business Management qualification advantageous.
* Health, Safety and Compliance training advantageous.

### **Experience**


* Minimum 5 years’ relevant logistics, warehousing, distribution or transport operations experience.
* At least 2–3 years’ supervisory or management experience in a DC, warehouse, transport or logistics environment.
* Experience managing multi\-shift or 24\-hour operations.
* Proven experience in route planning, fleet coordination, dispatch, collections and delivery management.
* Experience managing SLA performance, productivity, cost control, operational reporting and client/service delivery expectations.
* Exposure to inventory control, loss control, audits, compliance and risk management.

### **Technical / Job\-Related Skills**


* Strong knowledge of DC operations, logistics processes, transport planning and warehouse workflows.
* Good understanding of SOPs, SLAs, KPIs, SHEQ, audit and compliance requirements.
* Strong people management, shift planning and performance management skills.
* Ability to analyse operational dashboards, fleet reports, productivity reports and service level data.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
* Working knowledge of logistics, tracking, warehouse or transport management systems advantageous.
